Research conducted by Capgemini took interviews of more than seven hundred representatives from different companies, including business giants such as Siemens, Boeing, and Volkswagen. 

 

The results were impressive. Seventy-five percent of companies with large-scale Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality implementation observed 10% operational benefits. Given the size of the companies, if we convert the percentage to dollars, it would be a profit of millions or, in some cases, even more than that.

 

According to research by Statista, the world would see a dramatic rise in the use of Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality technology in the upcoming years. Some experts claim that by 2025, the market size of emerging technologies would cross $500+ billion.

Augmented Reality technology can be used to train students and employees, providing them with a multisensory experience that is more productive when compared to traditional methods such as textbooks, flashcards, or lectures. 

 

Repair and maintenance

 

In 2015, Hyundai was the first automaker company to introduce an Augmented Reality owner's manual. Using a tablet or smartphone, customers were provided with how-to information about car maintenance, repairs, and vehicle features. The app also contains 3D overlay images, how-to videos when the consumer scans different areas of the vehicle. It also has an information guide to help its user. 


 

Augmented Reality has made it easier for inexperienced people to identify problems and make a repair in fault parts using the step-by-step instructional guide. 


 

What is the future of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality?

 

Based on the research results and the performance experiences from different companies, we can clearly say that Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality have gained immense popularity among business giants. Even though there were a few challenges at the beginning, including data readiness, technological integration, talent, inability to identify problems, and general awareness.


 

However, the result of Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality technology has made the customer satisfied and provided them with multiple solutions and opportunities to experience virtual shopping experiences.
